Should I take a pregnancy test or just wait for my UTI to pass?

I went to the doctor yesterday because I was frequently urinating and it hurt really bad. The results came back that I had a bladder infection. BUT! I’m also late for having my period and heard that infections could cause that. I’m not sure though. Should I go ahead and take a pregnancy test because it is very possible that I am or should I just wait for the infection to pass then see if my cycle gets back on track?

Answer #1

Well, you probably should have asked the doctor about that, (and you still can) but consider this: If you take a PT you are still going to be unsure about the results because of these other circumstances and will still want to take another one after your infection is cured.

Well, if it was me. I would wanna know if i was pregnant or not. theres no harm in taking a pregnancy test. go for it. it could explain were the infections coming from.

Answer #3

Im not si sure pregnancy causes bladder infections, it causes the need to urinate more, but not painful urination.

Answer #8

The test came out negative, but we have another just in case I don’t start this week. Maybe its just the infection making me late or something.

Answer #9

Just take the test, it never hurts.

Answer #10

The way Pregnancy test work is by detected the Human Pregnancy Hormone which is only produced when you are impregnated.and the levels increase threw the length of the pregnancy. I don’t think a UTI would affect the results.
