Do tattoos hurt? I want 1 on my hipbone what do they feel like? And does it hurt more if you want it coloured in?

Answer #1

I just got a tattoo on my chest and the pain is a lot worse now than it was while they were giving me the tattoo, it feels like a realy bad sun burn

Answer #2

I have 1 tattoo going down side of my hand just above my little finger it does hurt, the colouring hurts most, but after abit it goes numb, but dont forget you might have to have it re coloured I have.the second time doesnt hurt at all.

Answer #3

I aint going to lie to YES! they do and especially on your hip bone I wouldnt get one when your all saggy and old that tattoo sags aswell :)

Answer #4

Depends on where you get it, at first it stings a little bit but about 10 seconds you adapt to it.

Answer #5

Depends one where you get it and your pain tolerance. I have 8 and only 1 hurt which was on top my foot. The colour never hurt for me because your so used to the feeling when they are doing the outline so by time they get to the colour it doesn’t even matter.

I haven’t gotten a tattoo, but I know allot of people that have.

YES! They stick a needle in your skin, it’s like getting a shot and moving the needle. (Hip bone will probably hurt more) I’m sure it doesn’t HURT more, persay, but more stuff, more pain I’m guessing. Cause there’s more pain you have to deal with.

They only hurt when they first start one (and it’s not very bad)…the vibration of the needle actually “numbs” the skin, so that on a small tatoo, the filling in is nearly painless. Certain parts of the body are more nerve filled…and places where there is little fat, (ie, the girl above who got one on her foot)…and they hurt a little more…

Tats are way less painful than piercing!!

it doesn’t hurt that bad..its not like ‘omg I think im dying’ kind of pain..its like a cat scratch sorta..when they have finished it doesn’t hurt it just feels like a sunburn..and most the time they use 2 or so needles to colour in..if its big that is..its nothing like going to the doctors to get a needle! =] but if I was you I would stay away from your bone..cause it hurts a bit more there xD

the little bit of pain is worth it in the end. =)

Answer #9

Of course it would hurt more to get it colored in, afterall they use a needle to color it in also.

As for the actual pain…it depends on how well you tolerate pain. I have 6 tattoo’s and barely felt it…but then I have 3 children who all were natural births.

If you get a tattoo on top of bone it will hurt more so if you can’t tolerate pain very well I wouldn’t suggest getting it on top of your hipbone (especially if you’re not very fleshy there).

It feels like a needle going in and out of your skin.

I have a tattoo on my hip. had it two days ago. I was scared at first and I aint gonah lie it does absoloutely kill! but if its somethin you want then get it. the pains only going to last a bit. but your going to get the tattoo forever :)

Answer #11

I have a tattoo on my hip bone. The pain was bearable and I’m a huge baby. When they do the color, the artist actually scrapes it into your skin. For me though the color actually hurt less because at that point your pretty numb to the pain, what hurt the most was the shading (making the black outline thicker)but I still didn’t have to take any breaks or anything. My tattoo is like 3x4 so it’s kind of small but it is directly on top of my hip bone. Here is a link to the picture of my tattoo if you are interested: http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a180/Chele12888/MyTattoo.jpg

Hope that helped!

It all depends on how much pain you personally can handle. I honestly think some people make it seem WAY worse than it really is. If you truly want the tattoo, get it. Don’t worry about how much pain will be involved. As long as it’s something you really want, you won’t regret getting it. Just be sure to go to a clean, professional parlor and you’ll be fine.
