Tarantula Not Eating

My daughter’s Tarantula has not fed for a couple of weeks. He isn’t molting and he seems to be physically fine (no changes in temperament or physical condition), but this seems odd…how can he live so long without food? Is something wrong with him?

Answer #1

also if he/she is getting ready to moult dont give it any prey animals/insects so nothing that could give it a hareful bite…crickets can bite them too because if its moulting it will take about 1 week after for its teeth to harden

Answer #2

Yikes…this whole conversation give me the chills…LOL…Very interesting what a person can learn on here, without even trying…

Answer #3

it would be more helpful to know what species he is but heres some info if your spider decides to stop eating for a few weeks thats normal and may signal an upcoming molt. and not to get you worried but other reasons might be that it is too cold, has a fungal infection, worms, or something else like that otherwise make sure your giving him really big insects, maybe even some lizars… make sure there alive first so he/she can run about and pounce on them

Answer #4

Thanks, I’ll look into that

He’s a rose-hair, if that helps
