How can I talk to this guy who is the son of my moms college friend?

So we have gone to the river with them once, but this guy was with his 2 brothers and i was looking after my brother… I really wanted to talk to this guy but way too shy. I think he was shy too.. i saw him looking at me and wandering near me. Recently we attended a xmas party at his house and it was awk because i still hardly know him… i only talked to him a little. But he had a group of male friends there and i felt so awk being the ONLY female! haha. His grandma was trying to pair us together and i blushed and he did too. But we didnt talk after that.. and i got home and added him on facebook. Is that too forward? When we meet again will he think i am weird? How can I brave up and how do I confront him and talk?
