Survival Horror

I recently played ‘’Left 4 Dead’’ with some of my friends.

I did like certain aspects of it…

(1) The designers did a good job of creating tension with the environments (2) The ‘regular’ zombie designs were well made and varied enough. (3) Co-op: Its nice to have someone watching your back… when they’re actually paying attention

But I have issues with the game that became more and more irritating…

(1) - Repetitive gameplay (2) - Lighting properties (the flashlight is totally unrealistic) (3) - Limited weapon variety (4) - A ‘peek around corner’ feature would’ve been NICE (5) - Most of the zombie ‘bosses’ were totally unnecessary (6) - Pipe Bombs (how is that little blinking light, attracting more zombies than the muzzle flash of my assault rifle?)

For a long time, I’ve both loved and hated the ‘’Survival Horror’’ genre of video games. Which game is your favorite and why?

RE 2 is by far my favorite game. yeah its old school but still awesome you could find yourself with a knife and no bullets not even half way through the game…

and Land of The dead was also pretty cool… though not exactly survival horror (more like FPS action game) it was still awesome using the axe on the zombies and also the broken body parts :D

Yeah… maybe they’ll manage to make to co-op play a little more satisfying…

I think my favorite is RE3… I LOVED the ‘dodge’ feature, and was totally baffled as to why they didn’t continue using it. Nemesis gave me the extra tension I needed to keep playing too.
