Survey for Christians (and others)

I just had a few questions?

  1. If God is eternal what did he do during the eternity before he created us? How did he get there? Why did he create us? Was he bored? Lonley? A perfect God would never feel boredom or lonliness. A perfect God would always be content.

  2. A perfect God created us, humans, in his own likeness. But the Bible states that humans are far from perfect. A perfect God would not create imperfection. Whats the deal with this?

  3. If God is omniscient, he would be able to forsee the suffering of humans. In fact the Bible even states this. Yet he creates us anyway. This seems kind of odd for an All-Compasionate God doesnt it?

  4. An All-Just God sends his own creations to hell for an eternity as punishment for finite sins. He sends people to hell just for absence of faith, no matter how kind, or caring they are. Think of all the people in remote corners of the world who have never even heard of Christianity. This doesnt seem like a just God would do this to me, does it?

Have fun answering these questions. and I’d appreciate any input at all, Christian or not.

Answer #1

I believe that our hell exists here on earth (karma) and the rest of the questions I have quit trying to ask as HE has revealed himself to me in many ways. I just believe.

Answer #2

1.Some questions are not meant to have the correct answers;it can’t be answered. 2.Yes God created everything we know and see,but are imperfections come from are deeds,if we were made “LIKE” God we would not have Death everything would be perfect, not meant to be,we must work for the Future,it’s a test. 3.Yes are Maker is omniscient and creative we were put here for a reason and left to make are own decisions but that doesn’t mean we are not being watched, their will always be Wars,Deceases it’s part of Life, the only hope we have is Prayer/belife to save us!. 4.We all bring to the table are Sins when it’s time, keep in mind.we just didn’t pop up out of the blue right?,and people that don’t know Religion, well it’s not their fault, some don’t have the resorces to identify are Maker,But at the same time People know something created us,sometimes that’s all that matters. Good luck.

Answer #3

lol like I said. my points can easily be countered. the confusion took over me so I’m no longer part of a religion. in my opinion every one of them has something wrong. and no matter what all of them refuse to admit it.

the way I see it now, the bible was mistranslated completely. or at least misunderstood. there may be a god but who will ever know the truth? I also wouldn’t like to believe there is a hell. with any luck, we are all reincarnated into other physical bodies. and we forget our past life. and that if you have a dream where there’s a place or a person you’ve never seen before but are somehow familiar, it’s because the dreams are our only doorway to remembering our past lives… anyways I’m sorry for going on and on but I really like talking about these types of things, and some people can really get easily offended. so thanx for asking this question. ^ ^ I enjoyed answering.

Answer #4

only as a FORMER christian I will do my best to answer your questions…

  1. god is eternal and no one knows how he got there. they just accept that he’s there and that some questions just can’t be answered. people say that he created us for a purpose but we have to find out for ourselves what it’s for. god made us in his image. I guess even the most perfect have flaws. just look at adam and eve who both sinned even during perfection.

  2. god created perfect humans that would have their own minds and choices. they would know right from wrong and only sin against their own will. if he didn’t make us that way it would just be like making a robot.

  3. hard one… in the time of that suffering, god will be able to find the faithful ones that will stick by his side. knowing that his creation was a good one.

  4. . if one doesn’t know about god and is not given the opportunity to learn about him, god will not send that person to ‘hell’. he wants people to listen to what he has to say and if they ignore it then yes. unfortunately their fate is not a good one. but that’s something they put on themselves. (I must be one of them…)

remember I said former. these were good questions. they were very difficult to counter. hehehe. but my point here is that if you go into a room and sit down with a christian (particularly a jahovah’s witness) they will do anything and everything they can do to answer your questions in a way that they still believe he’s fair and kind and loving etc. “just say no!!” lol you brought up some really good points though and I think you’ll find that there’s a loop hole in any one of my answers. so that you can keep questioning away. xp. (btw it took me forever to answer #3) :D

Answer #5

I don’t believe in a magical, mystical being. Perhaps he lived on an Earth and worked at perfecting himself and we should do the same. I believe he is a real person who knows you and me personally and listens when we speak to him. I think he wants us here so we can learn the value of righteousness. I imagine Heaven as a place where all my family, friends and others are but no one is evil. I have no reason to believe God considers any of his children “expendable.” I believe he has a plan where all of us can return to our heavenly home. Yes, home - I believe we have a mother there also.

Answer #6

(in responce to tennent)

  1. hehe, you just prooved my point
  2. your answer also implies that the Bible is self-contridictory, first stating that we were made in God’s perfect likeness, but then stating that we have freewill and choose to be evil
  3. first of all your answer doesnt really answer the question. second, if God gave us the ability to make our own descisions, why didn’t he just give us the ability to make ONLY good descisions, not evil. third, the only thing I can conclude from this is that the bible is self-contridictory once again.
  4. once again you fail to answer my question. I cant understand the point in someone who is sent to hell for eternity, just for not having faith but yet killers, rapists, and theives can get into heaven just by accepting God at the last second.
Answer #7

(in responce to 4of7deadlysins) Interesting points.

however… Something that is perfect, by definition, would be INCAPABLE of sin. There aren’t two right answers… Either God is perfect and man was thusly created perfect… which I think we can all agree is NOT true… or God simply isn’t perfect.

And as for your second point… you’re saying that God is only just and compassionate to those who follow him, but the Bible states that God loves everyone equally, regardless of who it is… once again, there cant be two right answers here :D

Answer #8

but that doesn’t mean we are not being watched

Does that mean he was asleep when for example the Titatic sank Or on 911 or perhaps when every time a 6 month old baby in South Africa Get raped, or a pregnant Mom get shot in her stomach???

If he is/was not asleep, why doesn’t/didn’t he do anything to stop this from happening?

What is the possibility that god all mighty isn’t all that mighty after all OR better Yet he doesn’t exist!

Answer #9

Well, in my opinion, god was created by man. (durrr) And was only made to control people, example: do what we tell you, you go to heaven. don’t do what we tell you, you burn in hell for all eternity. but still, I believe jesus was real, and probably an awesome guy. People just exaggerated way to much. Because we can’t find the answer to everything, we make up our own answers, just to make things simpler, it would probably take all our lives and more to realise that compared to the universe, we arn’t that important at all. Thats what I think.

Answer #10

First off, here’s my definition of Heaven and Hell. Heaven is a place for people who follow His 2 most important commandments: Love Him, Love others. This includes accepting the gift of His son, Jesus Christ. Hell is for people that reject God in their lives. This doesn’t mean ignorance to God, this means knowing God and knowingly rejecting Him.

For the secluded people that have never learned of God, most of them have moral rules and obligations to each other and their own beliefs. The Bible says somewhere (don’t remember where) that if you do good in the name of another god or belief, you may as well be doing it for Him.

Yes God is perfect. In every way. He is light, He is love, and He is Just. I believe he created us to share His love with. I don’t think He was lonely or bored for the exact reasons you stated: How could He be? He’s God! That being said, He is eternal. Nothing before Him, nothing after Him, He is. That’s why I don’t believe there is a creator of God. The reason people say that He would have to have a creator is because we think that everything has to have a beginning. Because we have a finite understanding of everything around us, we can’t begin to comprehend the infinite.

I just remember that God is just, He does what’s right even if we don’t see it at first. Just keep an open mind and keep asking questions.

Answer #11

* If God is eternal what did he do during the eternity before he created us?

Nothing. He was perfectly content simply to be all by himself for infinity past, but then he got bored. You’d get bored after infinity years of nothing as well.

* How did he get there?

A god created him, of course.

* Why did he create us?

That’s what gods do.

* Was he bored? Lonley? A perfect God would never feel boredom or lonliness. A perfect God would always be content.

Try not to think about it. It’s always better to just ignore hard questions.

* A perfect God created us, humans, in his own likeness. But the Bible states that humans are far from perfect. A perfect God would not create imperfection. Whats the deal with this?

He created us perfect, but the perfect people sinned out of pure perfection. That’s why we’re not perfect. Plus, there was a talking snake. I mean come on, how scary is that!? You’re either with us, or you’re with the talking snake.

* If God is omniscient, he would be able to forsee the suffering of humans. In fact the Bible even states this. Yet he creates us anyway. This seems kind of odd for an All-Compasionate God doesnt it?

His inifinite compassion is why he allows us to suffer. Jeeze, do I have to spell everything out for you?

* An All-Just God sends his own creations to hell for an eternity as punishment for finite sins.

If you had to bide your time for all eternity, you might decide to swing both ways too.
