strongest wood

what is the strongest wood

Answer #1

One of the world’s heaviest and hardest ironwoods is the Caribbean tree called lignum vitae (Guaiacum officinale)

South African black ironwood (Olea laurifolia) is the heaviest wood.

Not sure if that is the “strongest wood”, it may be brittle…I don’t know. Strength can be measured in many ways. Silk is said to be stronger than steel, but it is lighter and softer.

Answer #2

seriously- I think that IRON WOOD is fairly strong, thus the name. but I am not a wood specialist, so there may be some wood which is stronger.
