How can I get rid of stretch marks?

I was 170lbs at my heaviest and I’ve since lost 30lbs (yipeee!), but the problem is that I’m covered in gross, icky stretch marks. I love my legs, they’re my favorite part of my body, but the backs of my shins are covered in thin, white lines. My legs were always nice, even when I was bigger and my mom says if she had them, she’s be in miniskirts everyday, but I can’t get past the stretch marks! I haven’t worn shorts in 4 years!!! Seriously, they’re everywhere you can imagine, my sides, inner thighs, breasts, butt, back of shins, even my arms for God sakes! And they’re fairly thick and quite noticeable. I know this girl who was 192 at her heaviest, but she doesn’t have a stretch mark in sight. How can I get rid of them, they’re ruining my life!

There’s nothing you can do to get rid of them–sorry! They will fade over time and lighten up but the are equivelent to scars. The ones that start out dark red or purple and thick will turn white over the years and then you’ll find it easier to get past them. I got them on my upper arms near my armpits when I was 16 and was mortified and didn’t wear sleveless for years and years. You just have to get over it. In the winter, you can wear skirts with tights and show off your shapely legs. Look on the bright side–mini skirts are not longer really appropriate after you are 30 years old anyway. Then you can wear pencil skirts and longer, a-line or floor length and hide soem of it.

Most all of us have stretch marks. You just have to get over it–you can’t change it. I wish I had better news for you. It’s a normal human condition, it shouldn’t be that embarassing. one day, you’ll just get over it.
