Is it strange that I enjoy spending hours with elderly and little kids much more than I do with people my own age?

No, some people just connect with people better outside of their own age group. It would be good to connect with people around your age though as well.
Not at all. People in our age group can be a little ridiculous and a little awkward amongst themselves but people at the far ends of the spectrum (old people and young kids) share something in common, they’re to some degree fearless or ignorant as to how they are perceived by others. Which can make them a bit more amicable than the average self conscious teen.
The elderly are pretty cool & don’t forget; “They were young once.”
That’s not strange at all! That’s exactly how I am actually. I get more of a kick hanging out with people who are older than me because I feel mature around them and being around little kids gives me responsibility and just being able to goof off and have fun with them(:
