how do i stop talking funny?

I JUST got a retainer AND headgear :( I have to keep the retainer in 24/7 the headgear is whenever im at home I talk alot (lol) how do i stop sounding stupid??

You can’t – which is why I stopped wearing my minds because I had the worse lisp ever and spitting on people became a trend. -_- I DO NOT RECOMMEND you follow my bad behavior because now I’m going to have to get fitted for a NEW retainer set (have to wear bottom and top for the rest of my life), which means ANOTHER yelling at from my orthodontist and mom. I think you’re speech will be a bit funny at first, because like you said you JUST got the retainer. After awhile the retainer will start to feel better, you’ll get used to the feel and your speech will improve slightly. People are just going to have to get used to the lisp, since you have to wear it 24/7

Talk as much as you can at home alone, or with your parents. you will soon get rid of the funny sounds. But yes dont do what Yvonne (and me) did and wear your retainer. or you’ll be in trouble.
