Why don't people stop at stop signs?

Why is it nowadays, that nobody stops at stop signs when driving? It is the law. I sat near a busy intersection today, watching cars go through it. I watched about four dozen cars go through, and only 1 of them came to a complete stop. ONLY ONE! The rest of them rolled slowly through. So what if no ones coming, its the law. I don’t get it I really don’t.

I agree with ifeelcrazy123. Another point is that not completely stopping also saves the lifetime of your car…when you come to a complete stop you brake longer and sometimes harder therefore wearing out your brakes and suspension more, plus your car will burn more gas if you stop 100% as opposed to a rolling stop. This adds up over time if you think about it…could be significant, or it may not be. I only do rolling stops if the road is totally clear and if I know for sure that nobody is coming in the direction I am turning or going at an intersection. Makes perfect sense I think.

Answer #2

Because they see no point in waiting there and think nothing bad is going to happen to them. They should take some time to think about the harmful consequences that this could have.

Answer #3

Because it takes time to stop and if no one is coming there really is no point. Yes, it is the law, but stop signs are ultimately there to regulate traffic. And if there is no traffic to regulate, I see no reason to stop.

Answer #4

People are idiots! the end.
