How do I stop my friend from joining a street gang?

There really are no pros to it. The people I used to know who joined gangs always had a shakey family life and were turning to the gang as a family. It doesn’t work like that. Show your friend your a true friend and that they dont need a gang as a family. So the long list of cons, You can get killed, your family can get killed, you’ll be doing illegal things which can lead to prison, you can be pressured into killing someone, you will watch your friends get killed at some point. Really it’s not a glamorous life at all. People die daily because of it and no one ever expects it to be them or their friends or family until it’s to late. I had a friend who got killed because his brother was in a gang and pissed off someone, so they broke into his house and killed him on june 6th of 06.

People really join gangs because they feel safer, as if they have a protective family. They know deep down it’s an easy way out of feeling alone. But the thing is, the gang couldn’t give a sh!t about one another. They would leave your friend on the ground with a stab wound if he messes up once. And once he enters the never endding cycle of theaft, assults, and other crimes, he won’t be able to leave it. If he seriously thinks his ass will be okay in a gang, then he’ll have to learn the hard way unless you stop him.

The only answer is God. From an atheistic standpoint, there is no reason for morals and no reason not to join the gang.

The only pro to joining a street gang is having street cred, and people know to respect you that are lower then you and not to mess with you

all though they may think that they will lead to a life of fame a popularity the truth is it will just make his or her life a living nightmare and they will regret it for the rest of their life. it might land them a cell in jail or even prison. even if they do reach a life of fame and pop. their family will wont to just stay away and i would put their family in a big risk of murder from rival gang or as a punishment to your friend. if they dont listen to you after you have given them some of these facts they obviously not a true friend and you should just back off from them. i hope i have helped you.
