TAKE HIM TO THE DOCTOR!

Why haven’t you already made an appointment! He’s 2 years old with a fever and throwing up - make an appointment NOW!

Answer #2

Little guys that young can dehydrate very easily from vomiting and diarrhea. He needs to be seen by the pediatrician today. If his fever is not very high (like up to 99,9) I wouldn’t treat it until he is seen by his doc. Fever is the bodies way of fighting infection, the triage nurse who schedules his appt will tell whether to treat the fever prior to coming in If he becomes hard to wake up, lethargic when awake(just “out there”, not wanting to do anything) or his fever spikes take him to the emergency room immediately.

He should see a doctor, but like Twilightmom said, Dehydration can set in quickly for a little child. He needs fluids. I would take him to a doctor and have him checked before it could get worse. Good luck and I hope all is well.

You can also try giving him small ice chips. That’s one way to get him to have a form of liquid in small amounts. Also, they sell kids chewable pepto bimol tablets. They say that you should ask a doctor for kids under 3 I think, but they do not have asprin like regular pepto. When my 22 month old has a tummy ache, I give her half of a tablet to calm her stomach. Her pediatrician said it’s fine, it’s just calcium coating the stomach to help relieve it. You could also give him some watered down ginger ale to calm his tummy…my daughter never liked it though!

My sister had the same problem getting an appointment due to the high amount of people getting sick. Like everyone is saying, take him to the ER if his fever spikes. My niece was sick with the same thing, and it was gone the next day. I hope he gets better soon.
