They are calling it a super bug because our Staunton River Kids stood up and made it public after the death of one of their own. This should be taken seriously. Keep your hands washed, if you get a cut or any open sore get it cleaned properly and keep it covered. I have been down this road first hand years ago with MRSA and even worse sepsus (sp?). My children and I take this very seriously as we have cared for and almost lost 2 very impt people in our lives to staph. FYI if a hospital has a case of MRSA no visitors are allowed without a gown, mask and gloves. You are required to dispose of them when exiting the room and wash as a surgeon would before surgery. And to think they closed our entire county down and the only professional cleaning we received was where we had cases. The rest just a daily cleaning, and the bus drives did the busses. In our case where we lost a wonderful young man the middle and high ride the bus together. It wasnt 3 days later where we now have one with it in the middle school. Keep those hands washed darling and be very cautious with sports equipment. Seems to running though our football teams.

Are there cases of MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus) at your school? This goes beyond a typical staph infection because this particular type is resistant to all available antibiotics. People are calling MRSA a superbug because there are no antibiotics to counter it and in some cases it is fatal.

I know from experience… a staph infection CAN be bad… it can be bad enough to place you in a hospital. It can be bad enough to place you in a morgue. Staph is every where. So use common sense, wash your hands often… and if you find yourself with an infected that is getting worse quickly. DON”T BE STUPID!!! Have it checked out. I found one on the back of my leg, and then approximately four days later I was in the hospital. So, now you know that Staph is nothing to mess with, but you have the tools to fight it… it’s called common sense. Take care.
