Answer #2

Putting something heavy on top of the lid, or just get a dog and scare them off. If those don’t work try putting a strap around the cans

Answer #3

You need to separate your garbage.

Use a regular plastic trash can for the part of your trash that is not food related.

Use a metal trash can with a tight fitting lid for all food related garbage. This includes scraps of food, paper plates and cups, and cans that once contained food. Keep the metal garbage can in an enclosed area such as a shed.

Answer #4

LAZORS! or put a lid on the rubbish bin with a brick on the top.

Answer #5

I don’t know if this is legal, but maybe you can look into pesticides. After all, squirrels are rodents :P Idk about it, it just might seem cruel killing a little squirrel :[

Answer #6

Haha that reminds of the time a squirrl chewed through a cooler full of bread and cheese and stuff when i was camping:D

Answer #7

Shoot them-KIDDING! DON”T KILL THEM! THEY’RE CUTE! But maybe you could just put the cans in a garage or something over night?

Answer #8

The lids are secure, but the damned things chewed straight through the plastic lids! They’re disgusting beasts.

Answer #9

the garbage cans are owned by my landlord, who lives downstairs in the house. We’re only allowed 3 garbage cans per house in this city, so unless he decides to get rid of one, we can’t use metal. I wonder if having a squirrel feeder nearby would help - i mean, wouldn’t you rather eat food than garbage? I didn’t think squirrels were scavengers. Gross.
