Speakers wont work?

I just got my computer back from giving it to an expert to get rid of viruses, and my speakers don’t work.

I’ve done pretty much everything, they’re plugged in everywhere correctly, they’re lit up so they are on, the volume and master volume is all the way up, and they don’t work?

I’ve been to control panal, Sounds Speech and Audio Devices, then Sounds and Audio Devices, And at the top part under volume it says “No Audio Device”

but there is? Please help. I can’t do much without sound =(

re-install the sound drivers

Answer #2

Goodwitch is right…you probably need your sound drivers reinstalled. I had the same problem when I reformatted my husbands computer. I finally broke down and paid for “Driver Detective” (you can google it)…if found the right driver, and installed it for me (as well as other drivers that weren’t up to date). It was well worth the $35.

this problem happens a lot. when a computer crashes and Windows has to be re-installed. Your files are backed up and the computer is wiped and then Windows in re-installed. What happens is you lose some drivers that were pre-installed on your computer. If you know the who manufactured your sound device card you can download the drivers for it from online. But usually you end up buying a new sound card and having it installed. I have seen this happen many times when Windows in re-installed.

Answer #4

reinstall the sound driver from motherboard cd. you can also download the drivers online.
