spaying a Yorkie

My female Yorkie just turned 6 months old. When is the best time to have her spayed? Also, someone suggested having it done at a shelter, as they might be cheaper. Any feedback on this? I do need to balance safety with price- how do I find the right vet or shelter?

Answer #1

ask your vet the best time to do this. Mine told me to spay them right after them coming onto their first heat.

Also a shelter is a good place to ask, they are generally cheaper. I paid a lot less for getting my dog fixed and I did it at an SPCA.

6 months is a good time. Get it done at a vets office just to be safe. Its not too too expensive anyway. I got my dog spayed when she was 6 months

Answer #3

let it make babys then do it

does that stop them having puppies I would let my dog have at least 1 puppie

Answer #4

My other yorkie Cuddles, I had her spayed when she was 6 months old, and I would definately suggest that age, and yes have it done at the vet’s office. You won’t regret it.
