Convert iTunes songs into Mp3 format?

How do I convert my itunes music songs into mp3 files so that I can get them onto my walkman phone?

I useMelodycan software. All you have to do is open it, adjust the settings if you want, pick a back-up folder and start the conversion (maximum summary converting speed is 50x ). Nothing could be easier. If you have the latest version of this program and the right version of iTunes, though, youll havent any problems.

What about iTunes-purchased videos? I heared that the only way to break the DRM on videos you buy at the iTunes Music Store (such as movies, music videos, and TV shows) is to use Melodycan. Essentially, it “watches” the movies you bought (if your computer is slow, it will go slower than real time, to make sure it captures every frame and synchs the sound properly), and records them into a new file that is not DRM’ed. You can change the settings so as to choose the format and properties (resolution, framerate, bitrate, compression algorithm) of the new file. I tried free trial and like conversion speed and quality.

The iTunes tracks that you purchase and download are in a “protected” AAC or M4P audio format.

If you right-click on a music track in iTunes, there is an option to Convert Selection to some other format.

Probably it says “Convert Selection to AAC”, which is useless because your iTunes tracks are already in AAC format!

So click on Edit / Preferences / Importing (or Edit / Preferences / Advanced / Importing) then change the Import Using from the default setting to “MP3 Encoder”. Click OK to save this setting.

Now when you right-click on a music track, there is an option to Convert Selection to MP3. But just try it… iTunes will tell you that “Protected files cannot be converted to other formats.”

So what can we do?

Burn the track(s) to a CD, then you can open the CD in iTunes and the Convert Selection to MP3 will do exactly what you want. Just be aware that you’ll have TWO copies of that song in iTunes – one in the original AAC format and one in MP3 format. You can delete the AAC version if you like. (Note that you must burn an audio CD, not a data CD. Check the setting in Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Burning if you have a problem importing tracks from the CD.)

Good luck.

can I fit all 127 songs on a 80 min/700mb?

Answer #4

As I know iTunes downloaded audio files (M4P - “protected AAC”) have DRM protection which prevent users from converting it to other formats or playing iTunes media with other incompatible players such as walkman phone, PSP, Zune, Creative Zen, etc..

So, you will need a professional DRM converter to convert the DRM M4P files.

Free download this converter, drag and drop the protected files to it: http://www.wmatomp3-converter.com/digital-music-converter.html

It can convert the DRM protected music (wma,m4p) to any other formats and extract audios from DRM video (wmv, m4v, asf, etc).

Hope it helps:)
