song help?

so I have been given this assignment to make a soundtrack for a story. And I picked Heartache which is a tragedy about a father who has just lost his son to a plague or some diese I dont remeber. Anyhow he must continue to work(carriage driver). He has no one in his life. He has no one to tell and share his tragedy and get some compassion back, and so he lowers prices.. and he cant even afford oats for his horse. in the end he sleeps in the stables and shares his story with his horse.

anyhow I was wondering if this reminded you of any songs.

far away-nickleback its kinda for a love story but it works if its a sad one 2 :)

Its a short story. But my teacher is making us make a soundtrack for short stories we have read.
