Why does society/people hate body hair on girls?

its natural (i hair remove, im just wondering):P

Answer #1

Idk, i find it unattractive when girls have armpit hair or hair on their lip. It doesn’t look normal, and it’s just always been that way. Guys have hair everywhere and girls don’t.

Answer #2

Well, if the majority of girls are hairless, then the few that aren’t hairless…like hairy legs, armpits, upper lip…ect then it looks strange because we aren’t use to seeing it. It’s all about lazer hair removal and waxing.

Answer #3

Honestly, i dont. I mean, it happens to everybody. But most girls shave their legs and/or armpits ect. so when people see the few that dont, some completely over-react, and others dont really care. And not to be mean, but anyone who might be giving someone grief because they’re not allowed to shave or they dont want to can just shut the hell up because no one wants to feel bad about themselves because of the stupid crap that their saying. so ya ;>

Answer #4

It’s more like what’s acceptable to society. Back then, women had armpit hair and pubic hair and it was normal, they were not considered unattractive for it. I think it has much to do with the po.rn industry and the media actually. Once women began shaving their pubic hair, you see men desiring such a thing and women beginning to copy that. On top of that, when it comes to women, there is more focus on looks which might be why women began following such trends. So in a way it’s a trend and what’s socially acceptable. Personally, I don’t think it’s gross or disgusting or anything, it’s natural.

Answer #5

I wonder this too ALOT. Even though we were made this way, im required to wax, pluck, shave. I like the clean feeling but i wish i got to choose. I remember back in grade seven my bff at the time got brazillian waxes and told me to do it like it was the law. i wanted to work up to it so i first got bikini done and because i have extremly sensitve skin it was a horrible expierence with alot of bruising. I try to shave that now and it irritates my skin but where im from it is “required” if you are a girl. I feel bad for my friends who have to wax there backs and stomachs because the hair they happen to have is “too much” for a girl. Its expensive and painful so I wish people had less expectation for us girls. Its not their fault. They were enforced to believe this is what a girl is supose to be to be considered feminem.

Answer #6

Yes, girls do have hair everywhere, just less of it in general

Answer #7

I guess its like accentuating a feminine quality, and its become the norm in many cultures. Of course its absolutely not true that women do not have body hair, or even facial hair. But generally, they have less hair than men, so its something that stands out as being feminine, and its considered attractive to enhance that. Kind of like wearing a corset or push-up bra to enhance curves.

Answer #8

I think people just think it’s unattractive and that it’s not very feminine, and then women/girls get embarrased. Some may just feel more comfortable knowing all that “useless ugly” hair is gone.
