Socializing on FunAdvice

If we didn’t want people to do it…would we have added: fun mail? No. profile comments? No. Photo comments? No. Photo sharing? No. Member browing? No. Groups? No.

We would have left the site as we launched it over six years ago…ask / answer, and done :)

I’ve just heard people that hate the socializing on FA… I was just looking for opinions, not whether it was formed for that purpose or not.. But jlw82, that’s definitely true:)

Asking and answering questions is the main purpose of FA, but socializing is a natural outcome of that. You ‘meet’ all sorts of people here, and chances are you’ll have something in common with them and like to talk about it. It’s as simple as that.

I’ve met some people off the site who live in New York, and I correspond with a few more that don’t. I don’t see much of an issue with it, no more than with any other site other than the people on here tend to skew younger.

I’m not arguing… I can put my opinion if you can..

I know… I’m not saying that it’s bad, or wrong to socialize. If I were saying that, I’d be a hypocrite… But you said it’s the point… Which it’s not EXACTLY…

‘ask questions, get answers and make friends’

Well I like it, I find it interesting meeting people from all over the world.

Not really… FunAdvice, not FunSocializing…

By all means, do so, but keep it in groups, FunMail and comments.

The boards aren’t meant for it.
