Answer #1

I wudnt say u have to be super smart, they shud have a test to take b4 entering the school

Answer #2

Not necessarily. There are good techniques which can be practiced so as to get good grades in Maths which are irrespective of age and education provided those techniques suits him and taught by a good Teacher.

Answer #3

I agree with sumit. I dont think you need to be really smart. but you would have to be able to contain knowledge about what ever your going to collage for. Just try not to stress about it too much im sure you will be fine. not all couses you do require you to know maths just when you go make sure you study by 15-20 mins every night and morning just look back at what you wrote so its fresh in your mind or even if you just skim though notes before that class you will be right :)

Answer #4

a duh who the fucckk told you you didnt have to be ?

Answer #5

No, you have to be hardworking. College is for people who can sit on their butts and study, not necessarily for the super intelligent.

Answer #6

In the US, you absolutely do not need to be terribly smart. The range of universities are so plentiful and diverse in terms of the intelligence required to get in, generally anyone with the willingness to pay $50,000 p.a. could get into a college/university in the States. Whether you can pay off the borrowed money in your lifetime is a separate question and clearly ifyou are aiming for one of the top schools in the US, you will struggle to get in. Many of these schools have substantially less than 10% acceptance rates so you need to have kicked butt in high school and on your SATs to get in. Does it make you smart if you did both those things, I don’t know, but it certainly makes it more competetive to get into better ranked schools.

If you are a mediocre student and your parents don’t have hordes of cash to blow on you, I strongly recommend a community college or vocational school. You will earn a decent living and if you have an extrepreneurial side, you may even do better than the doctors and lawyers among us.

Answer #7

You don’t have to be smart but you should. Fact is unless you score high on SAT’s most won’t even consider your application. Then again if you come from a rich family you can buy your way in like a lot of people (unfortunately) do.

Answer #8

i dont think you have to be smart. Alot of the top people in my school are actually kinda dumb. They really dont know how to think critically. All it takes to make it is alot of hard work and no procrastination.

Answer #9

To some degree, you really just have to be hard working and get good grades as well as passing the tests.

Answer #10

In his case, he could consider community college, where they offer classes like pre-Algebra and Elementary Algebra. If he forgot math, he can work through it while he focuses on the other subjects. As a few people have said before, you don’t necessarily have to be intelligent to make it through college, just hard-working. He can utilize tutoring and study as much as possible, and after he comes out he might even be good at math.

Answer #11

Answer #12

You don’t have to be smart to do university or college, you need to be committed and willing to learn.

Answer #13

You need to be either very smart or extremely determined and assiduous.

Both combined is perfect, but you can get through with either hard work or ingenuity. If he has neither he should stay away from college. Just sitting there with a dumb look on his face won’t take him anywhere.
