Sleep and weight loss

Hi, so I’d like to loose a few pounds just like the next person. One thing I’m curious about though is how much sleep affects metabolism and general health. I’m taking a lot of really hard courses at school and get very little sleep. (like 5 hours max) I know its bad for me, but can someone elaborate on just how bad it is, how it affects my endeavor to loose weight, and maybe give me some tips on how I can squeeze in some more sleep? Thanks much:)

Without proper sleeping habits your body does not function at 100% so of course you won’t get the best out of anything that you eat/exercise/whatever. Also not getting enough sleep affects your eating habits and makes you crave fatty foods to make up for the extra fuel your body needs and you usually end up overeating. Sleeping 2-4 hour naps will only make it worse throughout the day. You NEED proper sleeping habits…Go see a specialist/doctor/Target(for new comforter or something to make you sleep.

its true… its like trying to drive a car without any gas. you need to sleep because otherwise your body system will not be able to run properly. lack of sleep will definitely affect your metabolism. the body always runs better with sleep. sleep also helps you from getting ill.

but basically, if you’re eating, then your body needs to use that food for fuel, and if you dont get enough sleep, it cant really do that well and you just end up gaining weight.
