Why is it that the areas of skin around my mouth are darker?

well probaly because you lick your lips 2 much or probaly a break out. thats all I can think of. you can get some cream to prevent it from coming though.

The pigmentation around our mouths, eyes, inside of thighs etc are darker due to the thickness of the skin there. If you want to lighten the area you could use a cream called “fade out” which is available at all major chemists/pharmacies beside the ladies waxing/hair bleaching products. This gradually, with regular use lightens the areas of skin that we want to correct. It is very effective and not very expensive. If you just want a temporary look, apply your foundation and THEN a concealer one shade lighter than your make up and just “dot” it around your mouth, finishing with a light loose powder to stop it from “sweating” off during the day.
