Does the Sims 2 Pets for Playstation 2 need the actual Sims 2 game to play (like on pc)?
No if you have the sims 2 installed in your computer all you need is the pets disc and if you get something that came out after pets then all you need is that disc and not the rest.
Im not talking about the Sims for my computer, Im talking about it for my playstation.

For PC, Sims 2 Pets is an expansion pack… but for PlayStation it’s more of a series.

Thanks so much. I love the sims, but I’ve skipped the 2nd Sims series, but I saw pets and castaway going for cheap at a sale so I thought what the heck.
