Answer #1

The French-Indian War is what started the break of the colonies from England. After the war England was hurting for money because they had spent so much on the war. In turn they started the Stamp Act (1765) which imposed a tax on all printed paper used in the colonies. This began the whole theory behind no taxation without representation. But England was not done yet, England repealed the stamp act but imposed the Declaratory Act right before which gave Parliament full authority over the colonies. Then England imposed the Townsend Act which put taxes on many imported goods. Then to help out the East-India Tea companies who had a loss of profits in the previous year. The Tea Act was set into place. This act is what caused the Boston Tea Party.
The Boston Tea Party greatly enraged England who imposed another Act called the Intolerable Acts. This gave more power to England and restricted the Colonists greatly. Eventually all this led to Lexington and Concord which started the Revolutionary War. The French-Indian War was the beginning of the end of England’s control over the American Colonies. this is a good source: http://funadvice.com/r/15on0tcrfjb
