What are the side effects of eating instant noodles regularly (like every morning)?

Answer #1

Well that would really depend on why someone would be willing to eat instant noodles regularly like every morning.

I personally did it for a while as a lunch because I didnt hv time going outside to get lunch so I would bring one of those packs and all I needed to do was add boiling hot water & the package it came with let it sit & rest for 5-10 mins & i was good to go.

When I thought i was eating more healthy I found out how much sodium intake I was actually putting into my body & all that unwanted carbs so I merely stopped it immediately!

I guess my question is why on earth would someone want to eat that in the morning for breakfast?!

Answer #8

I wouldn’t say that there’s a massive danger to eating them regularly, but if you are eating them, you need to watch the nutritional facts and be sure to make it even out with the rest of your meals and daily intakes of things.

Instant noodles are usually really high in sodium, most commonly supplying about half or even more than half of the recommended daily intake for adults with just one bowl or pack. This means that if you’re going to eat the noodles, that you do not have a lot of room left for other things to have your sodium intake stay at a healthy level (I believe the limit is 1500mg daily). If you’re constantly exceeding that limit, there will be some health risks included. One of the health risks included is high blood pressure, which of course then increases your risk of heart disease, heart attacks, etc.

Along with this, you also have to think about the fact that aside from that, instant noodles don’t have anything very nutritional in them. They don’t include any vitamins or good things. So in that sense, unless you make up for it in other meals, you may end up with a deficiency.

In conclusion, the noodles taste good, but as everything else, they should be consumed in moderation. Eating them occasionally is fine, but due to the excessive amount of sodium and the very limited amount of essential nutrients, noodles are not a good choice to consume regularly.
