Shy of people

Im the same but I’m only 14… and I have tried and tried to be outgoing and talk to new people… but whenever I try… my mind goes blanc and I actually can’t think of anything to say!!! So I rely on other people to speak and I just answer them if they ask my a question =S

I’ve been trying for years now… and so I figured… I can’t change who I am just like people who don’t shut up can’t change that… so I don’t care anymore if people think I’m “antisocial”… really… who cares… let them think what they like because I know im a nice person… I dont argue with people and I never fall out with people.

Im outgoing with my close friends now, and so if people want to be my friend… they’ll just have to wait because thats the way I am.

Here is what helped me. I was shy or didn’t feel comfortable talking to people because I wasn’t confident in myself in that situation. I began thinking of situations that I was confident in. Then I realized that everything I felt comfortable with and was confident about was something I spent time learning how to do. I trouble shoot and repair electronics for example. 10 years ago I wouldn’t touch it; now everyone at my job comes to me when they want something fixed weather it’s work related or even a personal electronic device. I guess what I’m saying is; for me, I had to take it one step at a time and learn to be comfortabe talking to people and in turn to be confident in myself. I got better at it by doing it. Slow progress..;) I hope my rambling made can be of some help.

you shouldent be shy..just go out and talk to people, they wont bite…well maybe apart from vampires like me lol:)
