Should we expect kittens?

A couple weeks ago my male cat and one of my femal cats were in heat at the same time. He started going after her to, well.. you know. He got her a few times but would be pushed off of her by my dad. Anyway. The next day they were both pretty calm. She didn’t seem to be in heat anymore. In fact, if he went after her, she’d slap him.

I think that she’s probably pregnant if she all of a sudden wasn’t in heat. Plus, two cats in het is VERY likely to give you kittens. But my dad keeps saying that she’s not pregnant. And says I’m wrong.

None of the cats are fixed yet. We don’t have the money right now.

So should we expect kittens or not? And what kinds of things will tell us she’s pregnant? Like, signs of cat pregnancy.

Thanks!

Males don’t go into heat…they are ALWAYS ready to mate. If he got her, then yes, I’d expect some kittens in two months…Cats mate pretty darn quick, and the fact that she was done with him, might indicate that she “caught”…

Only time will tell…

You might want to check into a Spay/Neuter clinic…they give deals on multiple cats…or at least they do with ferals.

jreilly1, I would have a question like that, but we won’t be keeping the kittens. :( So the people who get them will name them.

My dad’s out of work and I currently don’t have my job. So once I get my job back (I think they open back up the middle of May), I’m gonna get them fixed.

Have you thought about listing another question like —

“what are some cute names for kittens”?

Your phrase

“In fact, if he went after her, she’d slap him.”

sounds like the human female also!!

Answer #5

expect kittens and that is going to be more expensive then just getting the cats spayed and neutered.

I wanted a pet, the current wife did not, said she was allergic. We live in the country and a year and a half ago someone dropped two VERY SMALL kittens out here. We managed to catch only one in the live trap. We think the other died in a bad storm that week. Anyway, we feed it and tried to find it a home. I TOLD HER NOT TO NAME IT!! Well “Boo” is a big part of this family now, he’s almost all white with on LARGE black heart on his side, WHAT A CAT!!
