should my baby be sitting up already

should my 7 month old be sitting up already?

she is strong and can almost crawl. she can hold her self up and role over but not sit up by herself. or is she just to little

Answer #1

All babies work at their own pace. I know a baby who started walking at 9 months, but couldn’t crawl. Just keep sitting her up and she’ll learn to do it on her own.

Answer #2

My younger one was at that age…and, my older one took until 10 months or so to sit up on his own…he was slower (and also chubbier).

It really depends on the kid, as they all deveop at their own page…our two boys are only 17 months apart, but so very different!

Answer #3

Most babies learn to sit up on their own sometime between age 6 and 8 months. Sitting up requires a lot of upper body strength and coordination. Once your baby’s neck and back muscles are strong enough, sometime around 3-6 months, he will be able to roll over by himself and sit up with some support from mom. Your baby will likely learn to sit up with assistance first and gradually start to do it on his own.

Answer #4

No, my fiancee’s little girl didn’t sit by herself until she was almost 9 months, shes just a slow starter. Not to worry.

If it goes any longer than that I would take her to the doctor, some babies need physical therapy to get up to the point of sitting.

Have fun! She’s a cutie! =]
