should I believe this guy..

ok, so im going to a new school and theres this guy who likes me and I think I might like him to.. but since hes on the football team, he says hes not alowed to have a girlfriend untill football seasons over. (team rule) and he said that he would “ask me out” after football season. ( which will be in November.) He texts me like every night and asks me “how was my day” and “what I did”..things like that. Ok now heres my problem..some people say to me that hes kind of a player..and hes not the “type” to have a girlfriend. I asked him about that and he said that people are haters and bla bla. I dont know if I should believe him… He tells me that he doesnt want to “fall for me yet” untill football season.

I dont know..I just I have trust issues or what ever. I just dont know if I should believe anything he says. please give me your opion. thank you sooo much.
