Should Bob Barr enter the Presidential race ?

Former Georgia Congressman Bob Barr speaking on the possibility of making a presidential run, said: “There’s been a tremendous interest expressed to me both directly and indirectly on the Internet. I take that support very seriously, and I think it also reflects a great deal of dissatisfaction with the current candidates and the current two-party system. So it is something, to be honest with you, that I’m looking very seriously at - as a Libertarian candidate - Should Bob Barr enter the Presidential race ?

Barr said a Libertarian candidacy would essentially be an extension of the Ron Paul campaign.

Oh Lordy, just what we need someone who supports warrantless searches, and a former member of the CIA. A man who lead the impeachment of Pres. Clinton. I can’t think of anything else to say here. This is all I remember about this man. I guess I don’t have a favorable memory of him.

jimahl lol I think you just like to tell me I am wrong. He served as an official for the CIA 1971-78. I had to look up the time frame but I knew he did. You might want to try to do that once in a while.

I don’t see what the point would be? It’s a little late to be entering now and there is no way he would win… the country lives by a two party system and that isn’t going to change now…

While not a fan at all of Barr, I don’t think he ever worked for the CIA, and has actually been a critic of the patriot act and Bush’s other attacks on civil liberties. But yes, he was a key person in Clintons impeachment. He is a bit of an enigma for a libertarian. He is very anti-durg, including leading fights to make sure medical marijuana is not legalized. That is not a normal stand for libertairans.

You know what they say about Libertarians: They are just Republicans that want to be able to smoke dope and bang hookers.
