Which shampoo is better for Dogs flea Control ?

Wants suggestion for flea free Dog.

Answer #1

Almost any shampoos are good. The kicker though, is to get a decent flea collar to keep them off. Then buy the little liquids that you squeeze on their back from neck to tail.

Follow up on the treatment! Fleas are persistent little buggers!!! You have to spray, wash and vacuum like for a few days straight to start to see them gone.

One application of anything, is just not gonna do it.

I second the advice given by Ericson but want to add a couple little tricks I’ve learned over the years.

  • Head and Shoulders shampoo kills fleas (but not eggs). It’s good for treating animals too young to use flea treatment on, and animals with sensitive skin. You need to repeat the shampoo every week, though, to kill off any hatchlings.

  • Baby shampoo diluted with 1/4 part scope is also safe on young animals, but works a little more aggressively than Head and Shoulders.

Make sure you vacuum all areas of your home and clean out the vacuum - those little suckers can climb out if you don’t. Wash bedding, blankets, etc … even if your pet doesn’t use them. There are sprays you can get to treat areas of the home that can’t be washed.
