What does a septum piercing feel like?

My boyfriend has it. He said that there’s a very small piece of skin in there between the end of your nose and your cartilage. You can feel it with your fingers. If they pierce that spot, it doesn’t hurt. If they mess up or pierce further back where there is cartilage, it will be very, very painful. So just make sure you go somewhere experienced and it’s not that bad at all.

To clean it, he used Epsom salt and water. I use Dial antibacterial soap on all my piercings (I’ve had eyebrow, lip and tongue, which I used Listerine to clean). The piercer should give you all of the information on cleaning it.

it hurts quite a bit, if they pierce it in the right place it’s going to hurt a bit but if they dont it’s going to hurt HORRIBLY. so make sure the person doing the piercing knows what there doing

I did my own septum with a saftey pin which was ahorrid idea and I do NOT recommend it. however I have had it for over a year and it is fine. The healing sucks cause if you get infected you could die, and when I pierced it it was a quick pinch. Your eyes may water, not out of pain but cause when you get a nose peircing it makes your tear ducts freak out :P
