What does this sentence mean: "building self-esteem in a child involves a collaboration, not deception"?

Answer #1

I think it means, that in order to build a child’s self esteem or to make a child feel good about him/herself self you cannot lie to them in order to achieve it. You have to work with the child to make him see the good that there is in him, and all the positive things about him that would make him into a good human being.

Answer #2

In my opinion it means that in order to build up a child’s self esteem you must collaborate - to cooperate with or willingly assist an enemy of one’s country and especially an occupying force- in with the child rather than decive -A ruse; a trick.- them by lying to them example when a bigger person that you know is over weight says Im fat don’t tell them they’re not find a great quallity about the and let them see that they may not be most in shape person in the world but they may be good with kids , have the most beautiful eyes you have ever saw just something they have that makes them special let them know it .
