Can you use "have you ever" and "why are there" in the same sentence?

For example, Have you ever thought why are there so many people? I mean is this question well written or not tell me please thank you.

Answer #1

Yes, I dont see why not….? But I would say “have you ever wondered why there are so many people?” or “have you ever thought, “why are there so many people?” or “have you ever thought about why there are so many people?” Something like that.

Answer #2

Certainly

Answer #3

no I think it would have to be “Why there are”

Answer #4

… Why there are so many people?

Answer #5

OH WAIT. You put it right in the second quote.

Answer #6

Fito, your example is fine, except 1) it needs quotation marks around the second clause of the question, and 2) it might need two question marks! I’m not sure if there’s a rule about that.

Have you ever thought, “why are there so many people?”?

Answer #7

Actually, thought would be the wrong word in sentence one… The word would be ‘wondered’, lol. You should change “why are there” to “why there are”. The sentence: “Have you ever wondered why there are so many people in the world would be correct”.
