Semi Dress?

I have a long, dark green dress that crosses in the back…but people are saying that it is too long. So instead of cutting it or buying a new one, what should I do?

Answer #1

Most dresses can be temporarily shortened.

If it’s really long (floor length), then just pull the end up underneath, and tack it along the waistline. That way you can take out the tacks afterward and your dress will be back to its original condition.

Answer #2

Just wear it, if you like it who cares what other people think?

If you don’t like it though, just go get it tailored… they can stitch it up to make it shorter…

Answer #3

ok, that would help a lot, but what if this dress has a lineing underneath the skirt.? would you still tack the sides? and the form of the dress is it is hugging your wait, and then the skirt flows away from your hips, making it like a A-line skirt, I dont really understand how you would tack the sides

Answer #4

you can get a taylor to hem it.

or you can wear heels.

long dresses are classy though, so I would keep it long.
