When selling things on ebay and such, how do you determine the cost of the shipping?
or which shipping choice to use?
when i sell on ebay i always use companys like DHL… i do all my shipping from interparcel.com and from there all i do is measure the package and guess teh weight. weight is pretty much easy to guess and then they give me the quotes for delivery from various companys.
the best thing to do would be to go to a post office and have them weigh the package for a quote and then you can say bla bla bla is teh exact shipping price.
but you can always guess.. i mean from mine to somewhere else in the UK its only just over 6 quid for special next day below a certain weight and size.
How does the payment part work? Lol, this is so confusing for me.
erm.. well depending on how they pay and your shipping time.
ok lets say thay pay with paypal. last time i used paypal they wouldnt release my money from the sell including shipping untill the buyer had confirmed receiving the parcel and left positive feedback. so in short you will have to pay for teh shipping yourself and wait for paypal to untie the money.
obviously you can take cheques only and mention in the description that the goods wont be shipped untill its cleared. but then you risk a none selling item. with this option you will use the buyers cash to send the item.
im not sure on what your country has in terms of money but here in the UK we have somethink called a postal order and you would pay arond £5.30 for a £5 postal order and when you receive it you take it to teh local post office and cash it for £5..
