Self highlights on dark hair
I have dark brown hair & I want to put highlights into my hair for cheap!!! So that means do it myself. I am worried about bleaching my hair & my roots comin out a different color than the rest. & The color coming out as a orange. Should I just bleach my hair. Or is there something I can buy to do it better. Or what if bleaching then puttin a highlight color over it??

if you bleach it, you let it dry, then it becomes a white, or blondish color, then you dy it with whatever color then the only problem you have to worry about is the fadding over time.. don’t forget to wear gloves, and to use foil…I’ve’e screwed up on that part before:) have fun…

Do not BLEACH. Use a box kit of highlighting cream. They are sold at Walmart, drugstores, supermarkets, etc. Use the applicator that comes in the box. I’ve used some. Be careful not to use a bright blonde. Stay withing a lighter brown or medium brown color. You can always go lighter later on. NEVER BLEACH. It will come out orange and it will kill your hair. Use the highlighting box. Some are made specifically for dark brown hair. I have dark brown hair as well and the color turned out great!. :].
