How secure is my phone when I run it on wi-fi?

Like can any hacking or info be taken when I use it

Answer #1

My husband said there is no need to worry much about having viruses or else when you use wi fi, specially when you use samsung and nokia.

Answer #2

I honestly wouldn’t know, but would like to know the answer to this question.

I am aware that when accessing the network you can view the computers files and what not, expect for those that enable a password on their account ( such as the log-in account). So I would think certain files can be seen that way. Just be careful or experiment for yourself.

Answer #3

I would say it more depends on the WiFi network you are one. One at home, well password protected, with only people you know. Should be fine.

One with on password at a coffee shop….. Lots of strange people and a lot of sites don’t start encryption until after you are logged in, so people can swipe your login cookies and pretend to be you to the website. Guy made an addon for FireFox call Firesheep to demonstrate how easy unencrypted cookies are to swipe: http://funadvice.com/r/3p8ucmp737
