clinton … right choice??

Answer #1

We’ll have to wait and see, she wields a lot of power/influence with all those Clinton selections - interesting ‘Change’ from the promised reversal of ‘Washington Insiders’ - hope it will be good for America.

A lot of people in several countries became worried during the Democratic primary when they started to hear both Obama and Clinton talk about making changes in US trade policy. The two main issues were NAFTA and trade with key Asian markets. Now that they are part of the same administration, it makes me wonder what is actually going to happen. Changing trade policy these days is no easy task, and is likely to cause reciprocal action. I.e. trade wars, that could further tank the global economy. But both Clinton and Obama told voters they would make changes to end “unfair” trade practices and create jobs in the US.

That’s my main concern with the Obama-Clinton foreign policy. However, Clinton herself has a lot of credibility with leaders abroad, and I think would do a decent job of repairing the damage done to US relations with several parts of the world, primarily Europe. The other big bonus is that Clinton could pretty much handle foreign relations, along with the national security team and trade advisors, leaving Obama free to concentrate on the miserable economy…now his #1 task.
