Do you think seances work?

what is a Seances?

a Seance is when a group of people sit around a table, with a glass on the table, facing down, in the center. Every one (from 3-12 people) place one finger on te cup lightly. Most people start with a prayer for safty and guidence during it. Then You call apon a spirit that you would like to communicate with. You asked if they are there, and if they are, to move the glass. If they do, they are present. Ask if you can ask them questions and tell thim, for yes move the glass to the right, if no, move it to the left. You wait for it to answer. If it says yes, you may continue to ask questions (yes and no) when youa re done, you thank the spirit and ask for it to go in peace.

I’ve never been a part of one, nor will I try one. I’m not sure if I believe in it entirely, but I do believe in spirits and I’d never want to upset one. I think that seances touch very shaky grounds and cross many lines, ones which should not be. I don’t think that participating in one is a good idea, regardless of whether or not it’s true.

That just sounds scary, you should not mess with spirits.

I’m not sure what to believe. I have heard a lot of stories from professional people (not just teenagers that tend to exaggerate everything lol) about Ouija boards etc really working and things like the glass going flying across the room when nobody was touching it etc. I know one woman, who is a 40 something year old real estate agent, I was looking after her kids once and when she got home we were chatting before I left and somehow we started talking about that stuff and she told me about how a few years ago (so she must have been about 39-40-41 ish), her and her friend and her friend’s husband were watching a mu;rder TV show and the husband mentioned that he didn’t believe in ghosts or whatever, her and the friend challenged him, and somehow they all decided to try the glass thing to see if it worked. They did, and the glass spelled out a name for them who they had never heard of, then just kind of poofed into a billion pieces on the table right in front of them! Nobody was touching it! They googled the name (Marion or Mary ann … I forgot the last name…) and it turned out that she was some woman who was beaten to death by her husband in the house next door or across the road or something in the early 1900s!

yes, beleive they CAN work, but not all the time.a lot of the time its just the players prentending to do it to scare soemone or they subconciously move it becase there waiting to be scared

thtas just creepy you should never mess with the spirts they could come back and haunt you

It definetly depends on the meaning of the word “work”.Seances might contact you to someone of the spiritual realm, but it might be someone totally diferent and negative that what you expected. What is your aim?

I must admit that your story has too many “one woman”,”40 something year old”,”once”,”somehow”,”few years ago”,”a few years ago”,”some woman”,”or something”, not very specific information, don’t you think?

well my friends and I were bored one night, so we did one. We used the glass in the middle of the table. Every one swore that they wouldnt move the cup, i mean, it was just for fun. We did it about 5 diffrent times… and each tim the cup moved. when we called on my grandma (the second one we did) the cup twisted, on the spot, and we tested after, tehre is no way that any one of us could do that to the class withought it being obvious, and the gass also got hot. But then i started to cry so we ended it.

ive been in many a seance but they can get really scary if its a recently passed spirit and it works if the person wants to join you. but you Have to be in a group and you MUST have someone who has been in one before with you
