why cant i make my screen resolution higher than 1024 600 on windoes 7?

Answer #1

This could be cause by the driver in the video card, the video card itself, or the monitor. These devices are only designed for so much resolution then there is a chance for poor performance and pixelation.

Answer #2

Right click on your desktop, to get the “Display Properties”. Select the “Settings” tab, then adjust the “Screen Resolution”

You will be limited to those resolutions supported by your graphics chip / card, and those that your monitor is capable of handling.

Answer #3

It is probably because of your graphic card. Go online and see if you can get your graphic card’s stats from the manufacture’s site. This should show you the resolution that your graphic card can handle.

Answer #4

1024 600 is a ridiculous resolution.

i remember 15” crt with bigger resolutions than that.

right click the desk top - screen resolution.

you will then have on your desktop [see pic] and now just adjust your res from ‘resolution.’
