First and foremost HAVE FUN, even if no one else is, be the life of the party. You can start an easy conversation with a small compliment(outfit, hair, shoes), and take it from there(ask where they got it from), or talk about how the dance is going. Just a thought

just walk up to people who seem cool and start talking to them. Look at what there shirt says like for example cannibal corpse is a band that I an a lot of other people like so when I see someone w/ a cannibal corpse shirt I say “Whoo cannibal corpse!” An they say something along the lines of “Yeah yah like that?” an then a conversation starts…
