Scene, out of control?

I took a minute, to look at my myspace and funadvice profile to see how many people were “Scene”

Seems like all the teens nowadays are getting these funky hairstyles, changing their myspace/facebook/messenger/funadvice names to suicidal/emotional/depressing stuff. I know kids want to be different, and I know they want to look cool. But I don’t understand how people can steal a look from someone else, and when someone copy’s them they call them a “poser.” And now they are labeling themselves as “Emo” or “Scene” or the best line ever: “myself”

How come this is catching on so quickly? Thoughts anyone? :D

EDIT: Um yeah, look at the related photos to the right. You’ll see what I mean lol

Holy hotwings I thought I was the only one who thought like that :D

Scene, emo, goths etc all get on my damn nerves. They ALL claim to be original yet all they are doing is going to other peoples myspaces & copying & pasting sh!t. Just because they are emo or scene doesnt mean they hurt more than me or you. & thats why so many people defend them, its one big mind game. I think all emos & scenes goths Etc should be locked up in a crazy house. Labels are lame but its even lamer when you label yourself. >=[

0_e I love you. I thought I was going crazy. the thing that annoys me the most is that they all tend to look down on us, as if they are better, even though they are fake.

my theory is that there were the goths, and then all the people who weren’t goths decided they wanted to be, so they got in a “my dick is bigger than yours fight” by trying to be the most obscure person… and as more and more people wanted to join, more and more people did, but they didn’t understand the roots, so it evolved into scene and emo. But srsly… it’s just cause thats the style now, they’ll grow out if it when they figure out it’s all just a fashion show. Just be yourself.. and if you like something someone else likes, do it, and if they call you a poser, who cares? you just like the color black and you like the way it goes with pink, and you like thousands of rubber bracelets… life gets better after high school.

people just like the style.

I mean just like in the 70’s, (or whenever) I mean gawsh! everyone couldnt get enough of FLOWER POWER and bell bottom jeans. and TYE DYE. and I guess the stereotypes were hippie, and flower child or whatever yall say. (haha =)

it’s just this generation, styles change, and everyone likes to follow them.

but yes, it can get annoying. example: people saying - “im so emo, because im emo, emo, emo ,emooo!” or “im so scene, and straightedge, and so coool, OMG I have awesome hair, look at it!”

and then everyone starts listeing to the same songs, when at one time, that use to be ‘your thing’ and now it’s everyones, so it just gets to the point where you dont like them anymore. so yah I see what you mean.

I have no idea why pretending to be depressed is cool now, but it’s really pissing me off b/c there are people who have problems an everyone is makeing it into a joke. I mean I have dyed my hair before, but it was when I was younger an lived in a small town where it wans’t considered cool so I deffinitly didn’t do it b/c I wanted to be cool I did it b/c I liked it…Errr so frustrating that people are retarded!!!
