Will the cut in my arm scar?

I had a pretty long (7 inch) cut along my arm, that has been about 1mm deep. About a half after this and a month, I have a bright red / pink line where it had been, that is pretty lumpy. I would apply TCP to the cut while it was still open, but the scabs had been occasionally picked by me. Is this more likely to scar, and in that case, how do I prevent it?

  • It probably is prone to scar. I scar rather readily, and like it would scar in my experience that seems. If I were you, I would make sure something is put by you like vaseline on it while it is healing, apparently that is meant to quit it scarring. Or honey, but I really do maybe not know if this works. Nevertheless to me, it seems like it has healed and that which you are seeing is really the scar. If it has already been healed, I would suggest bio oil, it gets rid of scars incredibly (second hand encounter. somebody I know used this for a scar from a surgical procedure and I could hardly see it) http://funadvice.com/r/c0ftou77guu . Either use that bio oil material, also if it will scar, or get some good sunlight. It makes it much less noticeable and can disappear together with your tan. I scar too readily.

Try putting vitamin E on asap - this will help expedite the healing process. It is likely to scar but will likely subside over time. Also, try to avoid picking at your scab as much as possible!

a person i used to know in 8th grade, for some reason.. He took a pencil ( a mechanical pencil with no lead).. And on the inside of his wrist he made a deep line on his skin with that pencil and one year later it went away. So you have hopes and chances it could go away. Good luck.

Apparently bio-oil is good for reducing scaring:)
