"save the rave"

Ok so third times a charm right? Let see if the all powerful ty removes this one as well. If you know any one who raves or if you’ve ever been to a rave you know about how much fun they can be. The “make you move” music, strobe lights and lasers, crazy clothes and kandii, the awsome people, and the overall fun atmosphere of a rave. Unfortunately because a few people had decided that raving wasnt fun with out drugs, raves have been stereotyped and given a bad name. But what about plur…why cant raves be stereotyped as energetic people who love music, individual expression, and do it all with plur (peace. Love. Unity. Respect) so I guess my question is…are there any ravers left out there that feel the same way I do?

Answer #3

I have been to raves, I’ve had a lot of fun. The Kandi kids are being phased out. I think it was just like any fashion fad - it comes and goes. The overall fun atmosphere is because everyone is so lovey dovey on xtc. I’ve never heard of anyone loving raves purely for what they are without any drug influences.

Answer #4

hm…sorry to hear that…but whats the point if your just there for the drugs the music and atmosphere is more than enough for me…and hey I think the kandii is pretty cool :p

I went to a ‘bush doof’ not long ago (duno who came up with the idea of a rave in bushland) but they had a generator and lights and it was waaayy up in the hills where any cops wouldnt be able to find us. Bit scary actually, but I had the best time. And no I wasn’t ‘on’ anything :) I’m in Australia btw.

Answer #6

Yea I loved the Kandi. It’s sad that it’s dying out, like an endangered species :(

The music is often geared towards people who are already on xtc, the beat & lyrics help enhance the ‘high.’ I’m not saying thats what I support, it’s just what I’ve seen/experienced. And there is little violence due to people being in such a state, therefore it is a fun friendly (sometimes too friendly) atmosphere.
