How can I safely clean my iPad 2?

I strongly advise you to not use windex. Use the cloth, but don’t use the spray. Over time, windex will eat away at the coatings of the screen, causing it to lose sensitivity and the glossiness. Either buy an iPad cleaning kit from eBay (which are very cheap and work great-from experience) or get a fine fibre/micro fibre cloth and put the slightest amount of water on it, and when I mean slightest, I mean just put a few drops, then wring it out of any liquid so the cloth is still a little damp, and clean the screen of your iPad, and wipe it over with a dry towel.

No they can’t. Do you honestly think that they would manufacture a product that has no basic protection and works by people running their grubby hands - with long nails, yet - across the screen? I can guarantee you that running your fingers across the screen is far more likely to scratch the surface than a paper towel moistened with a bit of Windex.

I have an ipod touch…trust me the screens scratch way more easily than you would think…that’s why i use screen protectors

i would suggest a soft cloth or a spray cleaner or a soft blanket or shirt they all wont scratch at all and are safe to use

they sell touch screen cloths at walmart that I use on my xoom tablet.
