What are, if any, *safe* teen sites to chat?

To be more specific; are there any websites where you can ensure safety while chatting? Sometimes I’d like a person to talk to that I don’t know whatsoever, just to well, chat?

Answer #1

I wasn’t sure, so I did a little searching and found a list of 10 “safe” sites for teens to chat. Keep in mind the safest way to talk to someone on a chat service is to keep your guard up and to not divulge any personal information (where you live, work, etc.). That also goes for supposed safe sites. Here’s the list: http://funadvice.com/r/bpf7ubsqm06

Tumblr is good.

Answer #4

Chatting in itself is always “safe”. What’s not safe is, giving out personal information, answering too many personal questions, arranging to phone, meet, etc. Believing that you’re talking to a 16 year old guy when it’s actually a 45 year old who wants to watch you on cam. There are no websites who can guarantee that you’re talking to someone trustworthy and real, though. Just be sensible and cautious.

Unfortunantly they can all be unsafe, as it takes nothing for an older person to create an account and start talking to you. instead try learning about ways you can be safe. this is by not giving away any personal information about you, family, school, ect, not posting revealing pics, home address or school photos as they can be used to track your location and if soemone seems to be buttering you up (telling you how pretty you look, how much you have in common, asking sexual questions and eventulaly asking to meet up with you) do not reply, just block/delete them.
