I'm thinking 'sultans of swing" by Dire Straights or 'hotel california" by The Eagles.
no one mentioned the king of guitarists- JIMMY HENDRIX, his star spangled banner solo at woodstock- the dude that inspired most up and coming rock guitarists of today- the things he did with a guitar were simply unheard of back then and definitely trend setting.
definitely the best guitar solo of all time.
It's a tough one but I'm think Brian May is amazing doing a solo. I can't remember the name of the video but there's one of him at the olympic closing ceremony which just stole the show in my opinion http://funadvice.com/r/168va3o64rh
I'll mention... Stairway to heaven, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) http://funadvice.com/r/bupp41ltm0d
Aaaand... Innuendo, Brian May (Queen) http://funadvice.com/r/bupp41lu932
Kirk Hammett does some great ones (but Metallica is also my favorite band :P). I really like the one in the middle of Creeping Death. http://funadvice.com/r/bur4g788mvl
Yes, and it is hard to compare different styles like Carlos Santana, Stevie Ray Vaughan or Kirk Hammett.
Sultans of Swing and Hotel California are certainly good choices.
How about Carlos Santana Abraxis?
Bohemian rhapsody, queen November rain, guns n roses Stairway to Heavan, led zeppelin
I love the lead guitar on rock you like a hurricane by the scorpions!
Absolutely. A tough on to narrow down isn't it?
Yeah what a band, a shame they couldn't last.
Hel yea! I ALWAYS turn it up in my car!
Hel yea! I ALWAYS turn it up in my car!

I dunno maybe anything by Slash
Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd
